Don't rush too hard, otherwise your diet will not work and you will find it difficult to fight the extra pounds. At the same time, you should not look at meals as "rewards" or "punishments", but learn to enjoy both healthy meals and snacks.
Calories. Pay close attention to the number of calories you consume on days when you are not eating healthy. For your diet to be effective, you need to set a limit on the calories you set out to eat.
